Here at River Church we are passionate about worshipping Jesus! Established in the heart of Canning Town we believe that God Wants to work in the lives of every person to bring lasting transformation and change into our lives, and into the wider community. We also believe that God wants to bring us into a deeper knowledge and understanding of who ‘He is’ and to create a community where everyone is welcomed and accepted, exemplifying His love, care and compassion. 

Our Sunday service is vibrant, sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and, we believe, anointed. It is not unusual for prophetic words and songs to be given or sung during the service. We believe that God speaks to us all, so if He has given us a word for the Church, we want to hear it.  Sounds messy? It sometimes is! But we are an imperfect people serving a perfect God and encouraging each other to grow and experience the deeper things of God.

We enjoy various forms of creative ministry and we are committed to developing even greater creativity as we worship the Lord. If prayer is your passion, you will find a home here, with both weekly prayer and various dedicated intercessory prayer events. 

We are also a mission focussed Church with established ministries in Sierra Leone and Lithuania, as well as ongoing links into Guyana, Israel, & Ghana.  we firmly believe in Jesus’ commission to ‘go into all the world and make disciples of all nations’.
